Brianna is passionate about helping kids/teens "from hard places," including foster, adoption, abuse, grief/loss, and trauma. Her own childhood experiences give her deep empathy for children and families facing these kinds of challenges. Brianna’s goal is to provide a safe, fun, warm, and non-judgmental space for your kiddo to feel, heal, learn, and grow.
As a TBRI Practitioner and Adoption Competent therapist, Brianna is particularly sensitive to the needs of foster and adoptive families, and those with children affected by developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional special needs. She has a tender heart for special needs siblings, knowing first-hand the demanding care required of entire families impacted by disability.
Brianna educates, and models for parents on how to empower, connect with, and correct children in way that fosters healthy attachment. She believes play is a child's language, so she uses Play Therapy and Expressive Arts to meet clients at their level of development. Brianna uses EMDR to help kids and teens work through trauma, distressing events, and "stuck" points.
Brianna previously worked as the Event and Communications Coordinator for Nathaniel’s Hope, a nonprofit her family started for kids with special needs. Brianna was born and raised in Orlando, FL, but has frequently visited Latin America to work with, and love on children who are orphaned and have suffered the effects of neglect and poor nutrition. She likes to say she’s “Hispanic at heart.” Her kiddo clients call her “Miss Bri" -- feel free to do the same!
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern means that Brianna has completed her Master's degree and is a credible counselor, registered with the state of Florida, and working toward licensure.
