Master's Level Student Intern

In my 25 years of working with parents and children in church and educational settings, as well as my own experiences as a mom, I can say that parenting is really hard. Life is hard too. Things do not go as we hope, plan or imagine. Put these two realities, parenting and life, together and the hurt and pain we experience can feel overwhelming. Many of us are suffering in isolation, thinking we should be able to figure life out on our own. I believe asking for mental health support is one of the wisest things we can do.

At the same time, I recognize that we are all different. There are many ways to move through life. My primary goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable telling the truth about your life without shame or judgment. I believe children need this same kind of space with a developmental understanding of how they express themselves. I use play therapy, attachment theory, cognitive-behavior tools and a trauma lens, to understand why things are so hard at home or at school. I am passionate about supporting parents as they seek to build strong relationships with their children while also maintaining boundaries and addressing behavior challenges.

If you are ready to get support, to feel less alone and defeated, I would be honored to work with you and your family.
