I am so glad you are here. My name is Leslie, and I would be honored to walk alongside as you discover all the different pieces of yourself; the pieces that are longing for healing and may feel unknown, as well as the pieces that make you uniquely who you are. I would love to celebrate your accomplishments, encourage you to be courageous, and sit with you during the darkest moments when hardship comes. My motivation as a therapist comes from my deep desire to provide a secure and safe relationship which enables you to share your vulnerabilities and experience increasing emotional safety. I believe this creates an environment where you can learn how to regulate your emotions, and in turn experience increased emotional safety in your personal relationships outside of therapy. I believe that growing in these areas can diminish insecurities and allow space for you to flourish in the ways you have been created to grow.
I am currently specializing in working with teenagers, young adults, and those struggling with any life transitions. I have experience working in the world of child welfare, with at-risk youth, and with the homeless population. I have worked with clients who have stories of heartbreaking trauma (spiritual, physical, and emotional), deep mental health burdens (Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar Disorders, Schizophrenia), and I am prepared to meet you where you need me to be in order for your healing journey to continue. Alongside these experiences, I am able to provide spiritual support to discuss anything on your mind in this realm.
My therapeutic approach is much based in Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also enjoy bringing Expressive Arts into therapy sessions.
Just for fun: I currently work part time with a local non-profit that provides social work, showers, and laundry services, for the homeless in Downtown Orlando. I have a large passion for creating ceramic art in my spare time, love being outdoors in the sun, and really enjoy exploring my creative side!
So please feel free to reach out anytime. You are not alone in your journey, and I would love to get to know you and work with you during this time in your life.
